This bag is custom made with my butterfly logo by EcoBags, which certifies that the bags are recycled cotton, made "fair wage, fair labor" and their saying is that they are "cleaning up the planet one bag at a time." We support their efforts! I sew the "oilcloth" (vinyl) on the bottom. Note that the pattern on the oilcloth will vary from what is pictured.

This thoughtful communion set has everything a pastor or representative needs

to offer sacred communion around town, or to serve a small group within the church.  Set the table for the feast! The extra minute or two that is needed to set the table allows the ones you are visiting to see the ritual unfold, and feel the care that you have taken. This “setting the scene” shows that we have time for each person we visit.

“As a hospice chaplain and pastor, I have developed these sets to make our ministry about the people and the ritual, instead of fussing with the “how-to” details. I have put all that is needed into this set! Hand-thrown and decorated ceramic communion chalice (approx. 4 1/2 inches tall), paten (approx. 5 inches diam.), and six cups (approx. 1 1/2 inches tall). These can be sanitized in the dishwasher when needed.
Glass wine bottle with spill proof cap (Glass is cleanable, and unlike the plastic ones you have used, glass will not stain over time). The glass bottle is dishwasher safe. If you do find a discoloration after many uses, swish a few grains of uncooked rice with a little water around in the bottle. They scrub it clean! Handwash the plastic lid.

Cloth mat (approx. 14 inches x 11 inches) to set the table for your chalice, paten, and cups. The bottom side is “oilcloth” cleanable by wiping with soap and water or sanitizer and the top side is a woolblend felt which is washable.
Walnut box (made in USA), custom made to fit the set, with hard foam on the inside bottom of the box, which is carved to hold the set. Soft foam lines the lid and supports the plate to cushion the ceramics for travel.

This set is the Natural Clay Cross design (other designs are available in my shop). This cross is drawn with my finger through the wet glaze to show the natural color of the clay. It is as if each piece is individually anointed! Drawn with a finger, the cross, which is a strong symbol of the power and love of God, takes on human warmth and presence. The Natural Clay Cross design reflects the humanity and divinity of Jesus Christ in a simple form.
